This article describes the specific settings for the Interactive Modules component available in SMARTFENSE: End User View, Interactive Modules Assignment, and Certificates.
To access these settings, go to the Settings > Awareness > Interactive Modules menu and select the option you want to configure.
End User View
Defines what is shown in the Available Interactive Modules section within the end user view. This section lists the modules that the user can complete outside the scope of an assigned campaign.
The Assigned Interactive Modules section (modules assigned in ongoing campaigns) and the Completed Interactive Modules section (modules completed at some point in the user’s history, which can be retaken) are independent of this setting and are always shown to the user.
Available options
- Show this section with all active Interactive Modules on the platform: the user will see all active modules, both predefined and custom.
- Show this section with all active custom Interactive Modules on the platform: the user will see only the active custom modules.
- Do not show this section: the Available Interactive Modules section will not be shown to the user.
Interactive Modules Assignment
Defines whether a user can be reassigned to an Interactive Module they have previously completed, either outside a campaign or within a campaign whose status is completed.
The platform will not reassign an Interactive Module to a user if that same module is already assigned to them in another ongoing campaign. This behavior is not configurable.
Available options
- Assign to all target users but notify only those who have not previously completed the module: campaigns will assign all target users but will notify only those who have not completed the module. In the campaign statistics, the Sent, Started, and Completed records for users who had already completed it will take the campaign’s send date as the value. Only users who have not previously completed the module will see it in their Assigned Interactive Modules section.
- Assign to all target users: campaigns will assign all recipients, including those who have already completed the module. Everyone will see it in their Assigned Interactive Modules section.
- Assign only to target users who have not previously completed the module: campaigns will assign only users who have not yet completed the module.
Certificates
Certificates are recognitions that are automatically sent to the user upon completing an Interactive Module.
Certificate delivery
- Send certificates: enables automatic sending of certificates upon completion of an Interactive Module.
- Do not send certificates: disables certificate sending.
Certificate design
When the Send certificates option is enabled, you can define the design:
- Use SMARTFENSE’s default certificate: uses the default template provided by the platform.
- Use a custom certificate: allows uploading a custom certificate for each supported language. Each flag represents an available language for customization.
The Send me a Test button allows you to receive a test version of the configured certificate in your own email inbox to validate the result before applying it.
For more details about certificate customization, see the article Activating Certificates on the Platform.
💡 Best Practices
- Remember to press the Save button at the bottom of each settings window before exiting. If you switch screens without saving, the selected changes will be lost.
- Review the End User View setting according to your awareness strategy: if you want users to access content on their own initiative, keep it enabled; if you prefer they only complete modules assigned in campaigns, disable it.
- Use the Assign to all target users but notify only those who have not completed option when you need to record full campaign coverage without causing fatigue to users who have already completed the content.
- Customize certificates to reinforce your organization’s identity and increase the perceived value of the recognition given to the user.
- Use the Send me a Test button before activating a custom certificate in production to validate the design and data of the final file.
