This article describes the customization options available under Settings > Organization > End User Dashboard. From this section, administrators can adjust the illustrative image, the behavior for content without a translation, and the favicon displayed to end users.
Illustrative image for users without pending content
This setting allows you to choose which image is displayed on the Dashboard when the end user has no pending content.
The available options are:
- Display SMARTFENSE's image: displays the image defined by SMARTFENSE on the Dashboard when the end user has no pending content.
- Do not display any image: does not display any image on the Dashboard when the end user has no pending content.
- Display customized image: allows selecting an image from a file. The selected image will be displayed on the Dashboard when the end user has no pending content.
Contents that are not available in the end user's language
The contents of the platform, whether predefined or custom, may be available in different languages. When content is not available in the end user's language, this setting defines what happens.
The available options are:
- Show content in the configured preferred language: when content is not available in the end user's language, it will be displayed in the organization's preferred language.
- Do not show content: when content is not available in the end user's language, it will not be displayed.
The organization's preferred language is configured under Settings > Organization > Preferred language.
Favicon
This setting allows you to customize the favicon displayed when navigating the end-user Dashboard.
The available options are:
- Use SMARTFENSE's own favicon: displays the predefined SMARTFENSE favicon.
- Use a custom favicon: allows uploading an image that will be used as a favicon on the end-user Dashboard.
If you select a custom favicon, the file must meet the following conditions:
- Be in PNG or ICO format
- Not exceed 500 KB in size
- Be square in shape
- Measure between 16x16 and 512x512 pixels
To save changes, click Save.
💡 Best practices
- Use the Display customized image option to reinforce the organization's visual identity on the end-user Dashboard.
- Choose Do not show content when the priority is for users to receive materials only in their own language, avoiding confusion with content in other languages.
- Choose Show content in the configured preferred language when content coverage in the user's language is partial and you want to ensure users always have materials available.
- Prepare the custom favicon in ICO format for better compatibility across browsers.
- Verify that the custom favicon displays correctly in different browsers before activating it in production.
