This article describes the Awareness Indicators in Campaigns report, available in the Reports section of SMARTFENSE. The report presents global and component-level indicators to assess the reach, completion, and effectiveness of the awareness plan.
To access the report, go to the Reports menu, locate the Key Performance Indicators card, and click the eye icon corresponding to Awareness Indicators in Campaigns.
Available filters
The report allows you to segment results using the following filters:
- Filter by group
- Filter by functional areas
- Filter by level of hierarchy
- Filter by smart group
- Start month and End month (analysis period)
This report only takes into account the actions that users perform in the context of an assigned campaign. It does not consider proactive interactions outside of an assigned campaign (for example, reviewing an available newsletter out of personal interest).
Global Metrics
This section provides an overview of the performance and health of the entire awareness program.
Global Participation (%)
Measures the percentage of active users who have interacted with at least one awareness activity. It allows you to assess the actual reach and level of engagement of your initiatives within the organization. A low percentage indicates that it is necessary to improve communication and launch strategies to engage a larger part of the organization.
Overall Completion Rate (%)
Indicates the percentage of assigned content that was completed by users. It helps you evaluate the overall compliance with the plan and diagnose if there are barriers such as lack of time, overly long or complex content, or access issues.
Average Completion Rate per User (%)
Calculates the individual completion rate for each user and then averages those values. This indicator represents the behavior of an "average user," minimizing the bias of those with many or few assignments. It helps to define more realistic compliance goals per individual.
The denominator for calculating this metric is the total content enabled for the selected period, not counting relative actions.
Period Interactions
Quantifies the total volume of program activity. It allows you to visualize the interaction funnel, from the content sent to what was actually completed, identifying possible drop-off points.
- Sent: total content sent to users in the campaigns during the period.
- Started: total content that users have started.
- Completed: total content completed by users.
Metrics by Component
This section breaks down performance for each specific format, allowing for more granular analysis.
Interactive Modules
- Completion Rate (%): indicates the percentage of users who completed the assigned interactive modules. If the rate is low, it may be an indicator to review the duration, complexity, or overall appeal of the offered modules.
Video Games
- Completion Rate (%): shows the percentage of users who completed the assigned video games. It helps you validate the effectiveness of your gamification strategy to capture user interest and engagement.
Videos
- Full View Rate (%): measures the percentage of assigned users who watched a video in its entirety. It is a key indicator to assess whether the audiovisual content is engaging enough to retain attention.
- Correct Response Rate (%): calculates the percentage of users who answered the validation question correctly after finishing a video. It allows you to verify attention and actual understanding of the message, beyond simple viewing.
Newsletters
- Open Rate (%): shows the percentage of users who opened the newsletter out of the total sent. It helps you measure the effectiveness of your communications by evaluating whether the subjects and senders generate enough interest.
- Correct Response Rate (%): indicates the percentage of users who answered the validation question correctly after opening a newsletter. It allows you to confirm the comprehensive reading of the content.
Exams
- Approval Rate (%): shows the percentage of users who passed an exam out of the total assigned. It is the definitive indicator to certify knowledge acquisition and validate the effectiveness of prior training.
- Average Score: calculates the average score obtained by users in the exams. It allows you to diagnose the general level of knowledge in the organization and identify whether an exam is too easy or too difficult.
Surveys
- Response Rate (%): measures the percentage of users who completed a survey out of the total sent. This indicator reflects the organization's willingness to provide feedback and participate in improvement initiatives.
Last updated
Unlike other platform reports, this report displays the date and time of the last data update at the bottom of the page. This allows you to know how current the indicators you are viewing are.
💡 Best practices
- Review Global Participation as the first indicator before analyzing component-level metrics. A low participation percentage undermines the conclusions drawn from the rest of the indicators.
- Use the Average Completion Rate per User to identify users with low compliance, and complement it with Audit > User history to understand the underlying causes.
- Compare the Overall Completion Rate with the Average Completion Rate per User: a significant difference between the two may indicate that a small number of users account for most completions.
- Apply the group or functional area filter to identify segments of the organization with lower adherence and design targeted follow-up actions.
- Take into account the last updated date when sharing the report with other teams, to contextualize the currency of the data presented.
