This article describes the specific configurations of the Videos component available in SMARTFENSE: End-user view and Video assignment.
To access these configurations, go to the Settings > Awareness > Videos menu and select the option you wish to configure.
End-user view
Defines what is displayed in the Available Videos section within the end-user view. This section lists the videos that the user can take outside the scope of an assigned campaign.
The Assigned Videos section (videos assigned in ongoing campaigns) and the Completed Videos section (videos completed at some point in the user's history, which can be taken again) are independent of this configuration and are always shown to the user.
Available options
- Show this section with all active Videos on the platform: the user will see all active videos, both predefined and custom.
- Show this section with all active custom Videos on the platform: the user will only see active custom videos.
- Do not show this section: the Available Videos section will not be shown to the user.
Video assignment
Defines whether a user can be assigned again to a Video they have previously completed, either outside of a campaign or within a campaign whose status is completed.
The platform will not reassign a Video to a user if they already have that same Video assigned in another ongoing campaign. This behavior is not configurable.
Available options
- Assign to all target users but notify only those who have not previously completed the Video in question: campaigns will assign the Video to all target users, but only notify those who have not yet completed it. In the campaign's statistics, the Sent, Started, and Completed records of users who had already completed the Video will use the campaign's send date as their value. Only users who have not previously completed the Video will see it in their Assigned Videos section.
- Assign to all target users: campaigns will assign the Video to all target users, including those who have already completed it. All users will see it in their Assigned Videos section.
- Assign only to target users who have not previously completed the Video in question: campaigns will assign the Video only to users who have not yet completed it.
💡 Best practices
- Remember to press the Save button at the bottom of each configuration window before exiting. If you change screens without saving, the selected changes will be lost.
- Review the End-user view configuration according to your awareness strategy: if you want users to access content on their own initiative, keep it enabled; if you prefer that they only complete videos assigned in campaigns, disable it.
- Use the Assign to all target users but notify only those who have not previously completed option when you need to record full campaign coverage without causing fatigue in users who have already completed the content.
- Combine Video campaigns with other components (Interactive Modules, Newsletters) to reinforce key concepts through different formats.
