This article describes the two audit views available in SMARTFENSE for tracking activity within the instance: Audit > Administration, which logs manual actions by administrator users, and Audit > System, which logs automated actions performed by the platform.
Audit > Administration
Logs all actions manually performed by the instance's administrator users: user and group management, creation and editing of campaigns and content, configuration changes, among others.
Each record includes: Date, User, Action, Description, and Detail.
Audit > System
Logs all automated actions executed by the platform, such as synchronizations and user imports from identity providers (Google, Microsoft Entra ID, among others).
Each record includes: Date, Action, and Detail.
Filters and Export
Both sections allow filtering by Start Date and End Date to narrow the analysis period, and exporting records in Excel or CSV format for backup, external analysis, or formal audits.
💡 Best Practices
- Regularly review Administration to detect relevant configuration changes made by the admin team.
- Check System to verify that automatic synchronization and user import processes are running correctly.
- Use date filters for targeted audits or specific incident reviews.
- Export records for compliance backups or security reviews.
