This article describes how the pending campaign notification works in SMARTFENSE and how to configure its content and frequency to remind users of campaigns they have not yet completed.
This notification is configured under Settings > Notifications > Pending campaigns.
Overview
The pending campaign notification is an automatic notification sent to users who have one or more assigned campaigns that have not yet concluded. This notification covers:
- Interactive Modules
- Exams
- Surveys
- Video Games
- Videos
The purpose is to provide users with a summary of their pending campaigns and inform them of the expiration date for each one.
The available options are:
- Do not send pending campaign notification
- Send pending campaign notification
SMARTFENSE also supports sending notifications in different languages, based on the language configured in each user's profile. This way, each user receives the notification in their own language, improving comprehension and user experience.
Notification content
This section defines the type of message users will receive:
- Send SMARTFENSE's own notification by email: uses a standard SMARTFENSE template.
- Send customized notification by email: allows adapting the message content to the organization's communication needs.
Notification frequency
This section allows configuring the frequency with which the pending campaign notification will be sent to the relevant users.
The available fields are:
- Send every: define the interval (e.g., every 1 week) and select the days of the week.
- Shipping start time: set the time and timezone for the notification to be sent.
Note: According to the configuration, the next notification will be sent on: [date and time]. This message updates automatically based on the current settings.
To verify how users will receive the notification, click Send me test.
After defining the desired frequency and notification content, complete the required fields and click Save to apply the changes.

- Keep Send pending campaign notification enabled to improve completion rates for Interactive Modules, Exams, Surveys, Video Games, and Videos.
- Use Send SMARTFENSE's own notification by email when a standard, consistent format is preferred across the organization.
- Choose Send customized notification by email when you need to adapt the tone or include specific messaging (for example, internal awareness campaigns).
- Review the notification frequency periodically to align it with the typical duration of campaigns and avoid overwhelming users.
