Credential-less authentication allows end users to access the platform through unique links, without the need to enter a username and password.
General operation
Credential-less authentication does not require end users to use access credentials.
In this case:
- Users receive a unique link in each platform notification
- This link allows them to directly access the assigned content
- Manual login is not necessary
And it applies to the following components:
- Interactive Modules
- Videos
- Video Games
- Exams
- Surveys
Please note:
- If a user shares this link, it is equivalent to sharing their access credentials
Login
For end users:
- Login using username and password is not allowed for end users
- Access is exclusively through personalized links and is directed straight to the end user view
For administrator users:
- Administrative users must always use access credentials
- It is not possible to access the administrative view without credentials, even if this method is configured
End user view
The end user:
- Can access the content they have assigned
- Cannot freely browse other content
If the available content section is enabled:
- If the user tries to access unassigned content
- A 404 error will be shown
- It is recommended not to show this section for all components
This is because access is restricted to the use of unique links sent by notification.
Campaign creation and editing
When using credential-less authentication:
- The option "Do not send notification email" will not be available
- This option is not shown in the "More options" section of campaign creation or editing
This is because:
- Access to content depends on sending the link in the notification
Considerations
- Access depends entirely on the link received by the user
- Sharing links poses a risk of unauthorized access
- Administrators must always authenticate with credentials
- It is not possible to proactively create content
💡 Best practices
- Inform users not to share the links they receive
- Verify proper receipt of notifications
- Use this method in environments where ease of access is prioritized
