Deactivating content that is in use in a campaign can affect the user experience and the collection of statistics. This article details the impacts and how to proceed correctly.
Warning when deactivating content
When attempting to deactivate content, the platform will display a warning indicating that the content:
Is in use in an ongoing campaign or
Is planned in a not started campaign
Additionally, the affected campaigns will be listed with their start date and end date / duration, so the administrator can assess the impact before confirming the action.
Impact on ongoing campaigns
If the content is deactivated while it is part of a campaign in Ongoing status:
The end user experience will be compromised
When trying to access the content, the user will be directed to a 404 error screen
No interaction statistics will be recorded while the content remains deactivated
Impact on not started campaigns
If the content is included in a campaign in Not started status:
When the campaign runs, the content will not be assigned to users
Impact on content management
When deactivating content:
It will no longer be available to create new campaigns
It will not appear in the list of available content
| Note: Only customized content can be deactivated. Predefined content cannot be deactivated. |
Reversing the action
You can reactivate the content at any time.
However, it is important to consider that:
During the period it was deactivated, users may have encountered a 404 error screen
Interactions not recorded during that period cannot be recovered
Considerations
This action can directly impact the auditing and metrics of the campaign
It is recommended to evaluate the use of the content before deactivating it
The described behavior is expected within the platform
💡 Best practices
Check if the content is associated with active campaigns before deactivating it
Avoid making changes during ongoing campaigns
Plan content management outside of active campaign periods
