Yes, it is possible to customize the 404 error page to tailor the message shown to users, for example, when a campaign has ended or the content is no longer available.
Where is it configured?
The customization is done from:
Settings > Organization > 404 Error Page
In this section you can:
Choose between using the predefined SMARTFENSE 404 error page or a custom page
Configure the page content in multiple languages
The platform allows defining the message for each available language by selecting the corresponding language from the flag icons.
In which cases is the 404 page shown?
The 404 error page is displayed when the user tries to access a resource that is not available. Some common examples are:
The campaign has ended
The content was deactivated or deleted
The link is no longer valid or has expired
The user tries to access outside the allowed context
In these cases, the platform will display the configured 404 page.
Why customize it?
Customizing the 404 page allows you to:
Clearly inform the user about the reason for the invalid access
Provide messages aligned with the organization's communication
Improve the end-user experience
For example, you can indicate that the campaign has ended or redirect the user to other resources.
Considerations
The configuration is at the instance level
It is recommended to complete the content in all used languages
If a custom version is not configured, the predefined page will be shown
💡 Best Practices
Customize the message to clearly explain why the content is not available
Configure all languages to avoid inconsistencies in display
Review the 404 page in different scenarios before real campaigns
