This behavior occurs when the user had already previously completed the content. And according to the established assignment configuration, the platform reuses that information and automatically records the completion in the current campaign.
Reason for the behavior
In campaigns of Interactive Modules, Videos, and Exams, it can be observed that some users show the same start and finish date and time.
This happens when the user:
Had already completed the content proactively (from their end-user view)
Or completed it previously in an earlier campaign
In these cases, the platform:
Detects that the content was already completed
Automatically records the completion in the new campaign, without requiring a new interaction
Relation to assignment configuration
This behavior depends on the configuration defined in:
Settings > Awareness > Interactive Module > Interactive Module Assignment
Settings > Awareness > Video > Video Assignment
Settings > Awareness > Exam > Exam Assignment
For example, if an option is used that prevents reassigning content already completed or passed, the platform will automatically mark those users as completed.
In the case of Interactive Modules, if the option is selected:
“Assign to all target users but notify only those who have not previously completed the module in question”
the following logic will apply:
The module is assigned to all users
Users who have already completed it:
Do not receive notification
Are automatically recorded as Sent, Started, and Completed in the current campaign
With the date corresponding to the campaign's start of sending
The same applies to videos and exams.
How to identify this case?
You can identify these cases because:
The start and finish date and time match
No IP data is recorded
No User Agent data is recorded
This indicates that there was no new interaction, but a previous completion was taken.
Considerations
This is not an error in the statistics
It is expected platform behavior
Applies to Interactive Modules, Videos, and Exams
Prevents users from repeating content already completed
💡 Best practices
Review the assignment configuration before launching campaigns
Consider this behavior when analyzing metrics
Use new content if a new real interaction is required
Change the assignment method if you want to reassign users by: Assign to all target users
Change the assignment method if you do not want users to be assigned and not appear in the statistics by: Assign only to target users who have not previously completed the module in question
