This article explains why an administrative user may not see personalized content on the platform and how to verify both the language and catalog permissions to locate it correctly.
Visibility of personalized content according to language
Personalized content is shown to each administrative user based on the language set in their profile.
For this reason, content may not appear in search results if the user is searching with a different language than the one used when creating or customizing it.
To correctly locate the content:
verify the language set in your user profile
make sure to search for the content using the title corresponding to that language
Permissions and catalogs associated with the content
In addition to language, personalized content may belong to different catalogs.
If the administrative user does not have permissions for the catalog where the content is located, it will not be visible on the platform.
To confirm content visibility:
Check which catalog the personalized content belongs to.
Verify that your administrative user has assigned permissions within that catalog.
How to preview personalized content in a specific language?
To preview personalized content in a specific language, it is recommended to temporarily change the language of the user you are logged in with to the same language in which you want to view the content.
You can do this in the following ways:
Option 1: From Users and Groups > Users
Go to Users and Groups > Users.
Search for and edit the corresponding administrative user.
Change the language set in their profile.
Save the changes and access the content again to preview it.
Option 2: From the logged-in user's profile
At the top right of the screen, click on the name of the user you are logged in as.
Go to the Profile menu.
Select Edit profile.
Change the user's language and save the changes.
Once the new language is applied, the platform will display personalized content in that language, allowing for correct previewing.
💡 Best practices
Keep personalized content available in all languages used by the administrative users of the instance to avoid visibility issues.
Check catalog permissions when creating new content, especially in environments with multiple teams or partners.
Use consistent names across languages to facilitate searching and managing personalized content.
Before reporting an incident, always confirm the language and permissions of the user trying to access the content.
