Yes, it is possible to import users without email only through Microsoft Entra ID. In the other synchronization methods, email is a mandatory field.
Reason for this behavior
The availability to import users without email depends on the synchronization method used.
Currently:
- Only the Microsoft Entra ID method allows importing users who do not have an email defined in Azure
- In the other import and synchronization methods, email is a required field
How to configure import without email?
To enable this option:
- Go to Users and Groups > Import and Synchronization > From Microsoft Entra ID
- Click on Save
- In the new window, go to the Users section
- Select the option:
“Import users who do not have an email defined in Microsoft Entra ID”
